I’d like to dive deep into the human body. Have you ever stopped to really think about the beauty that is your body? All of these systems – skeleton, tendon, muscular, etc. working in unison to create our body. Over time and with age and disease, our bodies can wither away like leaves on a tree. “This skin and bones is a rental and no one makes it out alive.” Those reflective words were written by one of my favorite Christian singers, Jon Foreman, in his song “Where I Belong.”

So my thought for today is gratitude for our bodies. Even if they are not working perfectly and even if we feel as though we are withering away on a tree. Our Lord gives us these rental bodies knowing that our forever bodies are pure.

Thank You, our Lord, for our bodies. Help us to be kind to them until we are given our forever bodies. Amen.

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming if our Lord Jesus Christ.” – 1 Thes 5:23
